Professional Consultation

The step from higher education into working life.

Professional Consultation is for students in the later stages of higher education — undergraduate and graduate, including master's-level — who are preparing to move from study into work. It is a bridge, not a job service: a structured conversation, arranged through Kerbona, about how the work you have done as a student translates into the work you want to do next.

Who it is for

Students still inside higher education, looking at the other side.

  • Undergraduate students

In their final years, deciding what comes after and how to present what they have done.

  • Graduate students

Including those at master's level, moving from a research-heavy program into work.

  • Students weighing two routes

Further study or a first role — and who want to think it through before choosing.

Professional Consultation is not a general career service. It is designed for students who are still in higher education, and it does not offer recruitment, job listings, introductions to employers, or placements. If you are outside higher education, this service is not the right fit, and Kerbona says so here rather than after you make a request.

Example questions

Questions this conversation is built for.

  1. How do I describe research, project, or lab work from my program in terms an employer understands?
  2. Which of the skills I have built transfer directly, and which gaps should I close before I apply?
  3. How do I weigh further study against starting work — or combine the two?
  4. What does a first role in my field actually ask of someone, day to day?
  5. How should I present a thesis, capstone, or portfolio when the audience is not academic?

Scope

What Kerbona can and cannot do here.

Kerbona can

  • Help you take stock of what you can already do, and put it in plain terms.
  • Talk through the realistic shape of a first role in a field, and what it asks of a beginner.
  • Suggest concrete next steps and better questions to take elsewhere.

Kerbona cannot

  • Find, list, or arrange jobs, internships, or introductions.
  • Promise an interview, an offer, or any employment outcome.
  • Represent you to an employer or speak on your behalf.
  • Advise on visas, contracts, or other legal questions.

Advice is general and informational. It reflects the experience of the people offering it; it is not a decision an employer will make, and it does not replace the guidance of your program or department.

The service journey

From a request to a conversation.

  1. Open a request online

Once online booking opens, you will open a request from your own Student account. This public page collects nothing.

  2. Describe where you are

Your program, your stage, and what you hope to work out, in your own words.

  3. Kerbona reviews the request

Staff read it and decide whether Kerbona can help, and who is best placed to. Not every request leads to a consultation.

  4. The conversation

    Online, through channels Kerbona manages.

  5. What you leave with

A clearer account of your own readiness, concrete next steps, and better questions to ask elsewhere.

Online booking is not yet available. For inquiries, email info@kerbona.org. An email is an inquiry only: it is not a booking or a registration. This page describes the service; it does not take bookings.

Common questions

Before you write.

Will Kerbona help me find a job?

No. Kerbona does not arrange jobs, internships, or introductions, and does not contact employers on your behalf. The consultation helps you understand and present your own readiness.

I have already finished my studies. Is this for me?

Professional Consultation is designed for students who are still in higher education and preparing for the move into work. It is not a general-public career service.

How is this different from Plan Your Path?

Plan Your Path is about direction in study and research over the longer term. Professional Consultation is about the specific step from higher education into work.

What about a question in my current coursework?

That belongs to Academic Consultation, a free short window for the academic work in front of you now, from Grades 8-12 through undergraduate study.
